Hockenheim

Hi readers

Hockenheim race was actually pretty good. We had again one test before race and there we found mistake why it was too hard for me to be fast on Sachsenring. There were some problems with exhaust. We had good two days of testing and we could get quite good speed. There was Aris also so it was good to practise together. On race weekend the first training was momently good. I felt perfect which was I think very important to be fast. I drove time for second place. We were very pleased with the result because time was also pretty good. Saturday morning first qualifying was wet from night so it was quite sure that it was going to dry and there was no idea to go crazy. We thought that most important was to stay on bike and drive with pleasure. Some guys crashed on first laps. I was in top ten in the end and it was okay because sun was shining and track was drying. To second qualifying track was completely dry and we could go full gas. I started momently alone and from first lap I tried to go as fast as possible. I didn't see any fast guys on the track so I got no help from slip-stream. In the end it looked like it was a good idea because I was fastest and so I started from pole position. To race it was hard to go because from pole position everybody expect you to win and the stress is pretty big. The start was not the best but I fixed it in the first corner. I stayed in the first group and had great fight. I felt comfortable with the pace. I felt like I could go faster and tried to escape the group. I think I had a second or two gap when I tried to push too hard and crashed in one slow corner. It was completely my mistake and there is nobody else to blame. No contact no anything. I was lucky that the bike was okay after crash and I could go forward with race. Only the gear lever was broken and the handlebar was loose. I finished the race in eight place. Finally it was good weekend because we had all the possibilitys to win but I tried too hard. At least we know that we are able to win. Sad that it was the final and there were no more races coming. Now it's the end of the season and we try to get our plans clear what we do next year. Many thanks to my father, Jean Stecher and my team PZ Motorsport this year who helped me a lot and without them the year would have been impossible. See you next year.
